Quilt care

Some quilts can be carefully washed, but most cannot be washed and should be dry cleaned or aired outside in the fresh air.

For the quilts that can be washed, (check with me first) use luke warm water only. Use a mild soap. Preferably wash by hand, or gentle cycle in a machine.

Line dry.  Never put a hand quilted quilt in the dryer.

Take care when line drying large hand quilted quilts. The weight of the water in the quilt can cause the stitches to break on the line. Try to hold up the bottom of the quilt with something to support its weight.
